January Week 3 Challenges

Hello!
Hope everyone is keeping warm!  Winter is here!  January is just flying by and it's already time for week 3 challenges.  My layout is inspired by Let's Get Sketchy 's January Week 3 Challenge designed by Jesse and
The Studio Challenges -Pattern Background Paper.  Also Challenge YourSelf #25 "Anything Goes"
In this layout the photo is of myself holding my daughter, Ashley. She is wearing the cutest winter hat!  (That I still have)  on a snowy night in New Hampshire.   I really miss those days!

Happy New Year! 2016

Hello!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday and are looking forward to the New Year!  My very first layout of the year is inspired by   Let's Get Sketchy's January Week 1 challenge designed by  Sarah King.   And also by  The Studio Challenges  "Hopes And Dreams" .
When it came to the sketch I decided to flip it.  For the Hopes of 2016 I am hoping to do layouts with photos that my family and friends have sent to me over the years.  This first layout has two photos from two different Christmases that my brother, Michael and my sister-in-law, JoAnn sent to me of their dog, Daisy.  I hope they are going to like it!

Let's have a very creative year!

Christmas Wish

Sayre's Christmas Wish

Merry Christmas to a little girl named Safyre who lives in Schenectady, New York.  Two years ago there was a fire and Sayfre was the only family member to survive.  She lost her father and her three siblings in that fire.   Sayfre sustained extensive injuries and has had to undergo many surgeries. She is now 8 years old and is living with her aunt.  Sayre's surgeries are not over. They are planning another one in early January.
For Christmas, Sayre's aunt brought her a Christmas tree card holder.  So, Sayre made a Christmas wish,  that she would receive cards from all over the world to fill that card holder up!
So many people from all over have responded and helped make Sayre's Christmas wish come true!

Here is the card I handmade and sent to Sayre

If you would like to send Sayre a Christmas greeting here is the address:

Let's Get Sketchy December Week 1

 Greetings!
Well it is officially Christmas Time!!!  Time to use all our beautiful Christmas stuff!  This week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy was designed by, Brenshevia.  It was a lot of fun doing this challenge!  The photo is of my children when they were very young.  They both fit in our rocking chair together!  That is how little they were.  Sky and Ashley were all dressed up in their Christmas finery!  So out came the camera!  We ended up using this photo for our Christmas cards that year.

Let's Get Sketchy November Week 3

Hello!
Hope you all are having a lovely week!  Started  going through Christmas photos and came across these polaroids from years ago.  Look at those faces!  My kids so excited to receive clothes for Christmas!  It does happen!  My son, Sky still has that bicycle shirt!
November's week 3, Let's Get Sketchy Challenge designed by Jesse was a challenging one for me.  I don't do a lot with mist and paint. (Yet)  But I did do some stenciling, added  mist on the ripped papers and wood titles with a sponge dauber and misted the snowflakes lilac.

Pilgrims Giving Thanks

Well hello again!

Here is a Thanksgiving card for my next door neighbor who is in the National Guard and has serviced our country for many, many years.  We are very proud of him and his family for all the sacrifices they have made over the years.
For this card I used a fabric panel (from JoAnn's Craft Store) with two pilgrims Giving Thanks.  I added some Patriotic Stars satin ribbon from The Paper studio.  Thank you for dropping by.
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
