Christmas Wish

Sayre's Christmas Wish

Merry Christmas to a little girl named Safyre who lives in Schenectady, New York.  Two years ago there was a fire and Sayfre was the only family member to survive.  She lost her father and her three siblings in that fire.   Sayfre sustained extensive injuries and has had to undergo many surgeries. She is now 8 years old and is living with her aunt.  Sayre's surgeries are not over. They are planning another one in early January.
For Christmas, Sayre's aunt brought her a Christmas tree card holder.  So, Sayre made a Christmas wish,  that she would receive cards from all over the world to fill that card holder up!
So many people from all over have responded and helped make Sayre's Christmas wish come true!

Here is the card I handmade and sent to Sayre

If you would like to send Sayre a Christmas greeting here is the address:

Let's Get Sketchy December Week 1

 Greetings!
Well it is officially Christmas Time!!!  Time to use all our beautiful Christmas stuff!  This week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy was designed by, Brenshevia.  It was a lot of fun doing this challenge!  The photo is of my children when they were very young.  They both fit in our rocking chair together!  That is how little they were.  Sky and Ashley were all dressed up in their Christmas finery!  So out came the camera!  We ended up using this photo for our Christmas cards that year.

Let's Get Sketchy November Week 3

Hello!
Hope you all are having a lovely week!  Started  going through Christmas photos and came across these polaroids from years ago.  Look at those faces!  My kids so excited to receive clothes for Christmas!  It does happen!  My son, Sky still has that bicycle shirt!
November's week 3, Let's Get Sketchy Challenge designed by Jesse was a challenging one for me.  I don't do a lot with mist and paint. (Yet)  But I did do some stenciling, added  mist on the ripped papers and wood titles with a sponge dauber and misted the snowflakes lilac.

Pilgrims Giving Thanks

Well hello again!

Here is a Thanksgiving card for my next door neighbor who is in the National Guard and has serviced our country for many, many years.  We are very proud of him and his family for all the sacrifices they have made over the years.
For this card I used a fabric panel (from JoAnn's Craft Store) with two pilgrims Giving Thanks.  I added some Patriotic Stars satin ribbon from The Paper studio.  Thank you for dropping by.
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Card

Hello!

Finished up some of my Thanksgiving cards for family and friends and thought I would enter them in some challenges.  When I go to JoAnn's Craft store sometimes I wander over to the fabric section even though I don't really ever sew.  But I do love a lot of the fabrics and try to think of other things to do with them.   I decided to use some of my stash of fabrics for my Thanksgiving cards.  For this card I used a panel with a cute little boy eating pumpkin pie with a turkey looking like he hopes the boy will share or drop some of the pie.  I also used some orange nylon wired edged ribbon from Michael's Celebrate It  "Harvest" collection.  I added some vellum maple leaves stickers from EKSuccess on top of the ribbon.  Then attached a couple of brads to the banner.   Wishing everyone a very               Happy Thanksgiving!

Let's Get Sketchy November Week 2

Hello!  This week's inspiration comes from Laetitia 's sketch that she designed for Let's Get Sketchy's November Week two's challenge.   First, I started with my sweeties in the photo; my son, Sky and my daughter, Ashley.  They were very young when we went to Nashville, TN for the first time.  One of the many places we went to visit was the old "Grand Ole Opry" where "my little stars" got up on stage. Where the likes of Minnie Pearl, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash, to just name a few, performed over the years. Thanks for dropping by and Laetitia for your design.  I had so much fun creating my layout this week! Hope you all are going to have a wonderful and creative weekend.

Let's Get Sketchy October Week 3

Hi!  This week's layout was inspired by  Brenshevia's Sketch. The owner and founder of
Let's Get Sketchy.   My husband, Joe, my son, Sky, and I all went to Burt's pumpkin patch last week.  We had a wonderful time picking the perfect pumpkins for our haunted house that we are going to have for Halloween.  While at the farm we took some photos that I am using  for this challenge.  Hope you enjoy the layout!  Thank you for dropping by and for all the wonderful comments everyone has taken the time to leave!  Have a lovely weekend!

Let's Get Sketchy October Week 2

For this week's  Let's Get Sketchy Challenge,  I was inspired by one of my favorite times of year.  Autumn!  Apple picking, pumpkin patches, and of course Halloween!   When my son, Schuyler, was around 4 years old I dressed him up as a cute little pumpkin.  Before going to pre-school dressed up, we thought we would take some pictures of him in front of our house.  Where we had made a pumpkin patch with all the pumpkins we had gotten from a real pumpkin patch.   There we were telling him to stand among the pumpkins when he looked up at us with a confused  face.  We looked around and ALL our pumpkins were gone!  Over night someone had taken all of them away!  Well, we could not do anything about that but it has given us a good story to tell over the years.  And as you will see, we did take pictures of Schuyler, the only pumpkin, in the corn field in front of our house!    I had a lot of fun creating my "BOO" layout with  Laetitia  sketch.  Thank you Laetitia and for everyone for dropping by.  Hope you all have a lovely fall weekend!

Boo!
