Let's Get Sketchy October Week 3

Hi!  This week's layout was inspired by  Brenshevia's Sketch. The owner and founder of
Let's Get Sketchy.   My husband, Joe, my son, Sky, and I all went to Burt's pumpkin patch last week.  We had a wonderful time picking the perfect pumpkins for our haunted house that we are going to have for Halloween.  While at the farm we took some photos that I am using  for this challenge.  Hope you enjoy the layout!  Thank you for dropping by and for all the wonderful comments everyone has taken the time to leave!  Have a lovely weekend!

Let's Get Sketchy October Week 2

For this week's  Let's Get Sketchy Challenge,  I was inspired by one of my favorite times of year.  Autumn!  Apple picking, pumpkin patches, and of course Halloween!   When my son, Schuyler, was around 4 years old I dressed him up as a cute little pumpkin.  Before going to pre-school dressed up, we thought we would take some pictures of him in front of our house.  Where we had made a pumpkin patch with all the pumpkins we had gotten from a real pumpkin patch.   There we were telling him to stand among the pumpkins when he looked up at us with a confused  face.  We looked around and ALL our pumpkins were gone!  Over night someone had taken all of them away!  Well, we could not do anything about that but it has given us a good story to tell over the years.  And as you will see, we did take pictures of Schuyler, the only pumpkin, in the corn field in front of our house!    I had a lot of fun creating my "BOO" layout with  Laetitia  sketch.  Thank you Laetitia and for everyone for dropping by.  Hope you all have a lovely fall weekend!

Boo!

Thoughts to Cherish

To go with the layout I did this week for Let's Get Sketchy ,which I used a photo of my Mother,  I handmade a Mom's card in her honor.  Our mother past away just a few years after those photos where taken at Niagara Falls.  My sister, Lianne, was still a very young girl at the time and was very close to our mother.  So she really misses her very much.  I hope the layout and this card will comfort her a little.  Love you!

Let's Get Sketchy September Week 4

Hi!   This week's inspiration for Let's Get Sketchy 's Challenge I went really far back in my past.  The reason was because my sister, Lianne, on Facebook posted a photo of Niagara Falls a few days ago.  Which reminded me of some photos I have of her and I with our Mother at Niagara Falls in 1973.   So, I went looking in an old photo album (You know those ones with the unsafe sticky pages) and found them.  The photos themselves are very small 2"x 2" but they bring back many treasured memories!   Bev Code 's sketch has a lot of layering and embellishing.  Which I think helped make my small photos look more significant.  Thank you Bev!  Hope everyone has a wonderful creative weekend!  We will be getting rain and more rain here!  Thanks for dropping by and also for all the lovely comments everyone has been leaving.  I really do appreciate them all!

Charlie Went to Heaven

When my sister, Lianne's family dog, Charlie,  passed away,  I wanted to do something special for her family.  The idea of a mini album within a sympathy card came to me.  The first step I did was to go on Lianne's and her husband, Mike's  Facebook page and print out and mat some of the photos of Charlie that they were posting.  ( To place in the inside of the card. )  Then I began designing the front of the card.  I thought of some words that most people think about their pets.  I came up with: Forever, Loved, Adored and Unforgettable .  I also added some journaling; the date and Charlie went to Heaven.  My sister's response was very touching.  Lianne was very thankful for the  "Remembrance" (as she called it) card of Charlie and that she will keep it forever.  There is no better complement then that.  Thank you Lianne.

Hi!    Fall is in the air here in the South,  The days are getting shorter and the nights are much cooler.  It reminds me of living in New Hampshire.   So, I decided to take Let's Get Sketchy September Week 2's  Challenge back to when I lived in New Hampshire.  Where my family would go Apple Picking every year.  The photos I used in the layout are of when my son, Sky, was 4, my daughter, Ashley was only a few months old, and me.  They bring back so many  happy memories of a simpler time.    Thank you Jenessa Franco for  the inspiring sketch that you designed for this week's challenge.  It really helped my page come together.   I hope you enjoy my interpretation and thank you all for dropping by.  Have a lovely weekend.
