Happy Halloween

Hello!  Happy Halloween!
Love this time of year.  Weather is great, trees are starting to change and Halloween is on its way.  My house is all decorated with Fall decor.  And it is time for the"Picture This" Halloween Moodboard Challenge.  So get out your favorite Halloween papers and embellishments and get scrapping following the fun mood board @ PT!
For my layout I chose a photo of a shortbread Ghost cookie I made for my children some years ago. Using the mood board @PT and the fun sketch by Brenshevia over at Let's Get Sketchy I came up with my Booeautiful page!

Beary Special

Hello!
Wow, it's October, the beginning of Autumn, my favorite time of year! The air is becoming so crisp and clean.  Time for all the trees to show off their inner beauty, to go pumpkin and apple picking, celebrate Halloween and to start another month of challenges!
 Love it!!
Over at "Picture This" we are challenging you to create a LO using " Layers + fussy cutting + one photo".
My DTM layout  for this October 1st fun challenge is composed of  Brenshevia's  Let's Get Sketch and  Challenge YOUrself .
This month, "Challenge YOUrself" would like to see sewing on your page.  It can be hand stitching, machine stitching, embroidery, ANY kind of sewing!!  The only other requirement is that you include a photo with YOU!
My LO started with one of my most treasured photo of my son, just a few days old, in my arms.
I was rocking him in the special chair that my husband and I had brought in town and carried many blocks home because we did not own a car at the time.
I used one of my favorite paper collection, Kaisercraft - Teddy Bears Picnic.  I fussy cut a whole bunch of the teddy bears (they are so cute!) and layered many of the cut away journaling cards.  I added embroidery thread in the buttons, rickrack around the photo and embellished with some snaps.
It was a lot of fun putting together this layout and I hope you will enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Always Remember

Hello again!
Today's layout is in remembrance of September 11th, 2001.   Fifteen years ago the USA experienced one of the most heartbreaking day in it's history.  I will never forget that morning on 911, when it felt like the world had stopped and that nothing would be the same!   All the airports were shut down and I remember most of the TV channels and shows were not on the air.
It seemed like the whole country had a day of silent.
But I rather reminisce more about the following day, September 12th, when Americans came together by pulling up our boot straps and tried to take back our country!  It was amazing how many American flags were everywhere to show pride for our country!
Flags were flying on people's homes, in front yards, out of car windows, off buildings!  It was so inspiring!
Our country was UNITED!
I really wish our citizens now would try to remember that day because we need to unite again for the good of the country.
Well, back to my layout.  My first inspiration came from looking through some photos of my family's trips to New York City.
One photo is of the skyline of NYC and the other is of myself and (one of my stars) my daughter, Ashley in front of the skyline from Brooklyn Heights.
I also got inspiration from two other sources.
Picture This which is having a new challenge about anything to do with Stars.  "Wish upon a Star"
and over at Let's Get Sketchy where Brenshevia has come up with another lovely sketch.

Boys Rock

Hello everyone!
Goodbye August Hello September!  Summer has just flown by!
Welcome to our first fun challenge of September over at Picture This.  Which is to create a layout featuring a male in your life.
Father, brother, son, husband, friend, etc…..
My layout was inspired by a photo of my son, Sky, rock climbing on one of  his Boy Scout adventures!

He really gained so much experience belonging to the Boy Scouts.

Since my layout is all about boys and rocks I decided to incorporate real rocks!
So I went into my backyard and collected some pebbles to frame Sky's photo.

I also included some twine to make a connection to the climbing rope in the photo.

I used rub-ons here.  They are so much fun to add!

I also entered my layout over at  Let's Get sketchy's Week 5 August Challenge.
I was inspired by the colors and the super star.

Thank you for dropping by and for all the lovely comments everyone has been leaving.
I truly appreciate all of them!
I am so looking forward to seeing what you come up with for our fun challenge over @PT!

Fourth August Challenges

Hello everybody!
Welcome to another week of my combined challenges.
Up first for inspiration is Brenshevia's fun sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy!
The next challenge is "Summer Nights" Photo Inspiration over at Lasting Memories
and last but not least is Simon Says: Go Fish challenge!
In July of 2001 my family and I went on a carefree summer vacation to California! (Just before 911)
We traveled to San Diego and all the way up the Coast to the Redwood Forest.  California has all kinds of weather and areas.
The Pacific Ocean, beaches, lakes, deserts, mountains and of course, Disneyland!  We saw it all!  What an amazing State!
The photos on my layout are of Ashley, my daughter, in a blowup boat on the Pacific Ocean where there  were seal lions swimming all around!  What fun we had with that boat!
(I think it was the best thing we brought in California. )

Third August Challenge

Hello!
My family and I have been enjoying the Summer Olympics from Rio for the passed two weeks.   So I thought I would create a layout using a photo of my daughter, Ashley,  from the 1996 Atlanta, Ga Summer Olympics.
One of the events we attended was the Equestrian.
Such beautiful horses!
For inspiration I chose Let's Get Sketchy Week 3's sketch by Brenshevia.  I also got additional inspiration  from the August Challenges at  More Than Words  "Friends & Circles" , The Creative Loops,  "Summertime", and  Simon Says: Summer Fun.
For all the details please go on over to their blogs.
All fun challenges!

Here is my take on the LGS Sketch

For the More Than Words Challenge I added many circles (Olympic Rings) and for the word "friend" part,  I thought the Olympics is the biggest Friendship Gathering that is between many countries!

I hope you will join in all the fun over at LGS!

Second August Challenge

Hello everyone!  I am so excited to present my second design team layout for Picture This!
Here is the fun challenge:
We all look to find that perfect picture to scrap and show off to the world, but  over at "Picture This" they want you to look through your stash and find that "Not so perfect photo"!  You know the one that's out of focus, or where half the head is cut off or what about the one with the red eyes.  Any photo that you deem "Not so picture perfect"  will do for this challenge.

The photo I came up with  for my layout is from many years ago.  I just could not ever think of getting rid of it but never thought of scraping it on a layout till now!   I am so grateful for this challenge to finally be able to use this "Not so Perfect" picture!
My picture is of my two children all dressed up for Easter and so we naturally took photos of them.  But something went terribly wrong with the film (you know, the stuff you used to put in a camera)  and the photos ended up on top of each other.
(But Ashley and Sky still looked so cute, so I kept the photo all these years!)

My April Babies by Lisa

I added lace through out my layout because
I thought the mistake on the left side of the photo looked like some lace was put on the photo.

Here are some close-ups

Circles with brads and embroidery hoop.
Brother and Sister friendships last forever!

I also entered my layout into two other challenges!

More than Words

The main challenge is based on a word  inspiration (Friends) and a creative (Circles) challenge!  For the circle part of the challenge, I incorporated different brads, and a lace embroidery hoop.  My photo is of my children who have had a loving friendship all their lives.  Which I am very grateful for!
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases, and art journal pages only.  It runs through  August 31st! Go on over and join the fun!

Archi-scrap

The August challenge's criteria is Butterflies!  Love them!  So it was really easy to add them to the page!  Let your imagine run wild with this challenge, so long as you add butterflies!  This fun challenge runs through August 31st.

I hope you will join in all the fun over at Picture This (two challenges a month),
More than Words (One challenge that last for the whole month),
and
Archi-scrap (One challenge a month also)!

Thank you for dropping by and I really appreciate all your lovely comments!
Looking forward to seeing what you create!
